Anne Jagger Recruitment is currently looking for a Financial Controller to join a shared service function within a private investment company in London. As founders and operators, they have a 25-year track record creating value as entrepreneurs. Their proprietary capital base allows a long-term, flexible approach to investment.
Reporting to the Group CFO / FD, you will maintain and develop effective financial control across the business, taking ownership and responsibility for the finance function. The main features are controls, production of financial and management accounts, management reporting including cash flow, flash reporting and cost analysis and financial system management.
You will be a major part of the central team and working with colleagues to pro-actively support the understanding of the business performance against budget alongside the fast growth of the business.
The role will also involve site visits for training and checking of finance processes to ensure correct compliance.
- Production of month end and Flash results, Management Accounts and Financial Board pack
- Weekly cash flow reporting
- Daily use of Sage 50 and Sage 200
- Understanding models used for business plans and budgeting.
- Ensuring cash, revenue and stock management processes are clearly followed and therefore reconciliation process is aligned
- Manage payroll process including outsource agency and auto enrolment
- Manage the year end audit and tax process across.
- Management of the finance team including staff development and team building
- Control of the balance sheet and monthly pack
- Production of Operational Cost analysis vs. Budget for discussion with Operations department and management.
- Manage accounting systems and effect process change
Qualified ACCA or equivalent with demonstrative experience of previous Financial Controller positions.
Leisure/Retail experience is essential
You must demonstrate financial experience with cash to sales reconciliation processes and have an understanding of front end credit card processes.
Experience in leading the year end audit and tax process with advisors.
Experience in developing and building a Finance Team by setting clear direction, clarifying expectations and providing personal development.
Experience of finance monitoring and control as well as budgetary and year-end disciplines.
Experience in making change/improvements and not settling for the status quo.
Experience of debt financing and related periodic covenant testing preferable
Advanced Excel skills, modelling and financial presentation skills
Strong general system skills with the ability of understanding functionality behind them and improvements needed and experience of implementations
This is a full time, permanent role with a salary range of £65,000 to £70,000 per annum.
You must be self-motivated, hardworking and show great attention to detail.
The working hours are 09:00-17:30 Monday to Friday; however flexibility may be required during busy periods. Immediate starts are available.
